Robbinsville North Carolina- Robbinsville, the Graham County seat, has a population of about 800. The biggest celebration of the year is the annual 4th of July Heritage Festival. Like the other Western Carolina towns activities in Robbinsville consist primarily of outdoor adventures like hiking, whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, fly-fishing, lake fishing, boating, hunting, horseback riding, photography, and mountain biking. You can also just come to enjoy the quiet of the forest and the cool mountain air. Many motorcyclists and sports car enthusiasts come to ride the Tail of the Dragon at Deal's Gap and the Cherohala Skyway.
Located about 12 miles west of Robinsville is Joyce Kilmer memorial forest. This is one of the most impressive remnants of our nations wilderness. Walking trails wind through the forest and are suitable for all ages and a great place to spend an entire day.
Accommodations vary. There are hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, luxury vacation homes, and rustic cabins located on streams and mountainsides. With a population of about 8,000 Robbinsville never feels very crowded.
